Pavilion, Market Creek Plaza

An event venue that compliments the existing amphitheater. The project is foreseen as an opportunity for diverse range in use such as: informal and formal social gatherings, sports, and festivals. The events pavilion is the community entrance from the surrounding neighborhood. A structure that is open yet can be closed off for privacy. The character is very tectonic where the connections weave together a structure that defines the event space. The pavilion’s main perpetrators is the community, the space opens up to Nature and presents opportunities for multi-functional outdoor events. The pavilion also holds restroom facilities for the entire east side of Market Creek Plaza in addition to an industrial kitchen that will serve as training ground and serve on/off site events. A cultural tapestry at the periphery defines the event space. The event space can hold 700 people.
