Sweetwater High School Welding Building

The facility replaces an existing community icon Welding Institute. The program called for: classroom, tool storage, workshop, restrooms, bracing, (TIG, MIG, ARC: welding areas); exterior covered areas: supply yard, High School metal yard storage, National City metal yard storage; Oxygen, Acetylene and Compressors Storage. The historically significant brasing table was to be re-used from the existing facility along with other items. The structure of the building is steel with welding connections and exposed; the building materials are raw: concrete masonry walls and floors, exterior metal siding (façade and roof), and stucco.
